The Montarbo Nettuno sound system has been selected as the official audio solution for A Chinese Ghost Story: Lanruo Rebirth, one of the most innovative contemporary Chinese theatre productions, combining theatre, music and dance into a highly immersive experience.

The tour started on 2 May at the Anhui Baixi Grand Theatre in Hefei, launching a journey across 5 major Chinese cities. The show offers a new interpretation of the famous oriental legend, combining live performances, stage design, projections, LED walls and immersive technologies to create a unique experience for the audience.

To support this complex production, the technical team selected Montarbo Nettuno L28, the flagship line array system of the Nettuno series, combined with Nettuno S181 subwoofers. The system was chosen as the only audio solution for the tour thanks to its ability to deliver power, precision and consistent coverage, essential qualities to enhance every element of the show: from actors’ voices to music and sound effects.

Thanks to its modularity, Nettuno L28 adapted perfectly to the different theatre environments involved in the tour, ensuring uniform sound coverage and allowing every member of the audience to enjoy the same listening experience. The system provided excellent clarity and definition even in complex acoustic spaces, which was essential for a production where dialogue, music and sound effects must work together in perfect balance.

The project was supported by ZOBO, Montarbo’s exclusive distributor for Greater China, which managed system design, setup and technical support during the preparation of the show, ensuring the best performance of the audio system inside the Anhui Baixi Grand Theatre.

After the successful debut in Hefei, A Chinese Ghost Story: Lanruo Rebirth will continue its national tour across China, visiting cities such as Hangzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Nanjing and the Hubei Theatre, bringing a new model of immersive theatre where art, technology and sound quality come together.
